STORIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD

Let My People Go Foundation’s films are meant to be a catalyst to cause change to oppressive regimes, systems, traditions, prejudices, contracts, or any other tool of Satan meant to oppress the souls of God.

Here are five stories—Moses, Joan of Arc, King David, Martin Luther King Jr., and Nelson Mandela—highlighting both the catalyst actions/events that caused the fall of their oppressors.

Nelson Mandela: The Walk That Crumbled Apartheid

In the shadow of South Africa’s apartheid, Nelson Mandela, born 1918 to a Xhosa chief’s lineage, grew up watching his people herded into townships, their rights stripped by a white regime. A lawyer by 1940s Johannesburg, he joined the African National Congress, vowing to end the yoke of racial tyranny. By 1962, branded a terrorist for sabotage against an unyielding state, he stood in Pretoria’s dock. “I am prepared to die,” he said, unbowed, before a life sentence locked him on Robben Island. For 27 years, Nelson chiseled limestone, his body caged but his spirit a torch. Letters smuggled out, whispers of resistance—he became the heartbeat of a nation’s hope. Released in 1990 at 71, he walked free from Robben Island, fists raised, ignited negotiations after global outcry to dismantle apartheid’s walls, and peace ensued when he became president in 1994. His faith in ubuntu—humanity’s shared bond—mirrored a worship of justice, freeing millions to live as equals before God and man. Nelson’s tale is our beacon: a film of steps felling a regime, proving one soul’s resolve can crack oppression’s grip, setting a people free to rise.

Moses: The Staff That Split the Sea

In ancient Egypt, Moses was born into a Hebrew family under the shadow of Pharaoh’s decree to kill all male infants. Hidden in a basket among the Nile’s reeds, he was rescued by Pharaoh’s daughter, raised in privilege, yet never forgot his people’s cries. When God spoke through a burning bush, commanding, “Let my people go,” Moses confronted Pharaoh by unleashing ten plagues, which culminated in the Passover, breaking Pharaoh’s will. As the Israelites fled, Moses raised his staff, a simple shepherd’s rod, parting the Red Sea. The waters crashed back, drowning Pharaoh’s army, ending their tyranny. Moses’ faith, and his staff, freed a nation to worship their God. His journey wasn’t just physical liberation—it was a path to worship God freely at Sinai, where they received the Law. Moses’ story is the heartbeat of our foundation: a cinematic testament to faith shattering oppression’s chains.

Joan of Arc: The Banner That Broke the Siege

In 15th-century France, Joan, a peasant girl, heard divine voices amid a nation being crushed by English occupation. At 17, clad in armor and wielding her white battlefield banner, she rallied a broken French army, claiming God’s mandate to free her people. Leading the siege of Orléans and breaking the English’s morale, she turned the tide of the Hundred Years’ War by crowning Charles VII and restoring French hope. Although betrayed and burned at the stake as a heretic, her faith never wavered, crying out to God in her final breath. Joan’s defiance against an oppressive regime mirrors our mission—her story a flame of liberation, yearning for a world where people are free and worship rises unhindered.

King David: The Stone That Felled the Giant

Before he was king, David was an outcast shepherd boy in a land trembling under the Philistine’s threat of rule. When Goliath, a towering symbol of tyranny, mocked Israel’s God, David faced him with a sling and five stones, trusting divine strength over human power. His victory from a single stone, slung from a leather strap—struck the giant’s forehead, killing him instantly. This pebble collapsed Philistine confidence, freeing Israel from fear and paving David’s rise to a kingdom of worship. David’s triumph came from one stone, backed by his powerful faith. His people, on the verge of being overtaken and oppressed, was saved by David’s faith. Just like David’s narrative, there are dark regimes ripe for film to inspire freedom’s song.

Our Works

Breaking Chains, One Film at a Time

Our work is rooted in the power of storytelling. We produce high-quality films that expose the realities of oppression and celebrate the resilience of the human spirit. Each project serves as a mirror—reflecting the pain of the bound—and a beacon—guiding the way to justice and freedom.

We partner with talented filmmakers, writers, and advocates who share our passion for truth and transformation. By bringing these stories to audiences worldwide, we aim to shift hearts, influence policies, and support real-world efforts to liberate the oppressed. Our films don’t just inform; they ignite change, offering hope where darkness once reigned.

Let My People Go Films

“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Go to Pharaoh and say to him, This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me.’”

At Let My People Go Films, our mission is to illuminate the shadowed corners of the world where oppression binds the human spirit, using the transformative power of cinematic storytelling to advocate for the liberation of the oppressed. Rooted in the timeless call of Exodus 8:1, we believe that every person deserves the freedom to live unshackled—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—so they may choose to worship God and fulfill their divine purpose.
Through the production of compelling, high-quality films, we seek to amplify the voices of those silenced by injustice, shining a spotlight on their struggles and resilience. Our work is driven by a commitment to raise global awareness about the plights of oppressed communities—whether they face tyranny, human trafficking, religious persecution, or systemic inequality—empowering audiences to take action and support efforts that lead to their emancipation. By revealing these stories, we aim to inspire a movement of compassion, advocacy, and tangible change, fostering a world where freedom is not a privilege but a universal right, and where worship becomes an act of reclaimed dignity.
